Money during informal seperation

Me & 'D'H have seperated, it's looking like it's headed for divorce.

He's dragging his feet over mediation etc and has this week started trying to get me to agree to seperation agreement.

He is claiming that I should be paying for this such as joint debts myself and is getting hostile over joint income (in a SAHM in marital home with kids)

Anyone know what I should do next? I'm feeling a bit bewildered about where to go for advice. I called sicyor who gave me 7 mins of her time then said that was my allotted half hour - sadly she gave me no advice.

Would suggest you need to make a claim for interim ancillary relief as well as child maintenance.

Do you have access to money, joint funds etc?

I have access to some money (hard gained small savings for rainy days) and have made claim for benefits.

You need to pay a solicitor for proper advice. Presumably the 7 minutes was free? You won't get any advice for free. The point of the free 30 minutes is find out what they can offer you, what the costs will be and make a judgement about whether you think you can work with them.

Go and see a few and then appoint the one you like best. You can use your savings to pay initial costs. You will both be required to declare all savings and debts as part of the divorce process and then a fair division will be agreed (with the support of mediation) bearing in mind that he is earning and you are the main carer. You will get maintenance for the children and a good chunk of the equity in your home. Don't agree anything with your H till you've had legal advice.
