Mrs, Miss or Ms after divorce?

I've been officially divorced for a year, and decided to keep my married surname just for convenience and because I'm so used to it (even though I prefer my maiden name). I also just carried on using Mrs, again as I'm so used to is.
Is this the norm, do women who keep their married surname generally start calling themselves Miss again or is Mrs ok? I know it's my choice what to call myself I just wondered if I was odd for being Mrs MarriedName even though me and exH are history.
What does everyone else use?

I also continued to use Mrs when I needed to use a title...going back to 'Miss' just felt wrong!

Usually just call myself lavenders green though given a free choice. Xmas Smile

I wanted to keep my married name when I got divorced maiden name was horrific but it seems to really confuse people that I'm a Mrs!
I'm in a same sex relationship and people seem to want to call me miss or Ms. Drives me potty!! Grin

It's "Ms" technically I suppose.

I'm not even divorced yet (will be in the next few months) but I am keeping my married name because of the children but I'm going by "Ms". Sounds more grown up than "Miss" but as an unmarried it doesn't feel right to use "Mrs".

You can do whatever you like. I've kept Mrs because I don't like the sound of Ms and my married name because I prefer it, can't be bothered with the hassle of changing it and it's the same a my DC.

There is also the small possibility that it might piss off XHs partner (who was the OW) in the event that they get married. That would simply be a bonus though and isn't the reason I've changed nothing :)

Whatever you want.

I'm a Ms, but then I was before I married and during my marriage too ;)

Camolips · 21/12/2014 11:21

Ms has nothing to do with divorce. It's a generic title for women who quite rightly feel that their marital status is no one else's business.

GilbertBlytheWouldGiftIt · 21/12/2014 11:22

Same as Islander.

I used Ms because it felt wrong to use Mrs or try to go back to Miss.

Sidge · 21/12/2014 11:44

I kept my married name (it was my name for a long time) and tend to use Ms. I think Miss should be used for under 18s and Mrs if you're married.

However I'm still referred to as Mrs a lot and it's on bank stuff etc - I don't correct them but use Ms if referring to myself.

I remained Miss throughout marriage so easy for me!
Just do what you want.
I've come across every variation several times!

The only person who persists in using Mrs despite correction is, bizarrely, my divorce solicitor!
