Advice on trial separation

Have already filed for divorce but My hubbie has not yet signed the papers.
He now says he wants a trial separation instead and will move to a flat near here. I am not sure and think it would be better to get the separation drawn up by a solicitor,if we decide to godown that route..He doesn't want to get solicitors involved. Will it be too late to get out of the divorce now and would it be very expensive to have a legal separation.

Well, what do you want? You don't need his permission to get divorced.

If that's what you want, stick to your guns.

A separation agreement just drags it on for another two years at least, meaning you are still entwined financially whether you like it or not.
