Have issued a divorce petition against my husband for unreasonable behaviour. We have 2 boys 13 and 8 so it has been a difficult decision and taken my years of in-decision to get to this point.
He told me he has taken on board all the things I mentioned in the petition and will change to make things better. Do I give him another chance?
He has till friday to respond to the petition. If I give him another chance is it too late to do a U turn. Can my solicitor keep things in pending and for how long? My solicitor did say that once things start that there is no turning back.

hmm, theres no turning back in the sense that it will cost you to change your mind! But, divorce proceedings can be halted right up to the decree absolute, so not sure why the solicitor is telling you that!
It might help to really look at what you have listed as unreasonable behaviour and whether they are things he can change, and whether you can honestly say that reading the petition is really going to be enough for him to make what may be major things or they may be things that have simply become an irritation over time because unreasonable behaviour has huge variations (anything from domestic violence to leaving the lid off the toothpaste if I recall!)
If you leave a solicitor pending then they will still be charging you, if you want to give him another chance and believe that he will do the change thing, then you'd be better cancelling it. Only you can know what brought you to this point and whether a rethink is possible x
