Order for costs

Hi wonder if anyone can help. My husband left me and then filed for divorce on the grounds of unreasonable behavior (not true but advised not to defend due to costs - he left me for someone else) I have now received the notice from court for the decree nisi to be read out on Tuesday. Does anyone know if he was going to try and claim costs from me for the divorce when I would receive the order for costs, I'm wondering if this would have come with the letter from court about the decree nisi hearing. I need help as I only received this letter today and the hearing is on Tuesday. Many thanks for any help.

Hi, ii is very unlikely that he would be awarded full costs from you.

It should state in his original petition if costs are being sought from him.

It is common that it is split of 50/50 which is usually £500 each if a solicitor was involved.

Full costs against a party will generally be awarded only where there is domestic abuse / violence.

Hope this helps
