I'm getting mixed signals.

Hi all bit of a long post I'm afraid,
7 weeks ago my wife told me she wanted to end our marriage of 11 years we have been together for 16 years she is 38 and i am 44 and we have two daughters 6 and 8,
Just a bit of background my wife's parents were both drinkers when she was growing up so she would spend most of Saturday and Sunday sitting outside pubs and clubs looking after her two younger sisters and brother then trying to stop mum and dad arguing at night, her parents seperated and divorced about 6/7 years ago.
She moved out of home aged 17 and by 18 had given birth to her son however the releationship with his father turned violent to which she went to court for injunctions etc...
2 1/2 years ago her mum passed away she was an alcoholic and had been for years I had the awful job of identifying the body and then having to tell my wife that her mum had passed away.
Since the funeral my wife has never visited her mums grave she just says I've done my greiving.
Since we have split up I have been for councilling which is provided by my work and which my wife is also entitled too, last week so 6 weeks after we split up my wife told me she needs to contact the councillors to talk to them because she feels down/low,tearful,can't eat/sleep properly feels moody.
The only real reason she has given for our marriage ending is because we have drifted apart and she dosen't think I am in love with her and visa versa I have told her I am in love with her and would work on our marriage to make it stronger but she dosen't seem interested.
She seems quite adamant on taking over the payment of the mortgage and bills of our marital home I have moved out to give her time and space but I still go and see our daughters on a regular basis.
I know of a couple of times since our split where my wife has sat on the sofa curled up and cried on her own and once where she even took herself upstairs and lay on the bed crying whilst our daughters were downstairs playing this was during the daytime.
Well I'm sure I could go on for ages but thats the main points I guess any help or advice out there please?

hi. Im really sorry for your situation. mine experience has similarities to yours . I think your DW reaction is natural. just because it was her pushing for it and seemingly wanting it she is grieving the loss of the relationship too. she has now got to accept what has happened to the family unit and any future you would have had.

I speak as someone who was similar to u as my ex said he didn't love me anymore. we supposedly attempted to fix it but he had long checked out of the relationship. it broke him to have to leave our DDS, our family home and life. that he had had to admit it all to himself too that he had let it get that bad.

6 months from separation I've moved on much more than he has. I don't think he can forgive himself and maybe your wife feels the same.

it would help I'm sure to see a counsellor if that is available.
