Following on from my post 'divorce without a solicitor', I have decided that before I submit my request to make the decree Nissi absolute that I need to sort out financial matters.
The only joint asset we have is the house which I currently live in. It is in positive equity-the mortgage is about 83k remaining and its value is about 140k in a good market.
I would like to stay in the house, but the problem is I only earn 8k so no mortgage company would ever let me have it just in my name.
The reason I would like to stay in it is because it is near to my children's school, friends and family and also that I would never be able to rent anywhere as cheaply as my mortgage repayments.
Obviously its not ideal as my ex and I are not on good terms but I think I wold like to try and get a MESHER order.
How do I go about doing this?
