My son's father hasn't really been in his life he will be 7 in Feb and last seen his dad when he was just 2 years old. Me and my partner who have a 1 year old girl are getting married in March and my son wants to take his last name as he has mine just now. His real father isn't on his birth certificate and as I said has no contact what so ever part from the csa payments he makes every month. Would my son taking my partners last name affect the payments I get from the csa please help

No it won't affect the CSA payments. Only if your partner adopts your son will his biological dad no longer be liable to pay maintenance.

However, you do need his permission to change your sons name- does he have Parental Responsibility? (named on his birth cert?)

He has nothing like that he's not named on birth certificate no contact nothing hadn't seen him since he was bout 2 years old. He sees my partner as his dad calls him dad
