when one party self-represents

What impact is that likely to have in the whole proceeding?

I've filed for divorce on grounds of adultery. STBXH is currently living with OW and has been for 15 months since I asked him to leave.

He did have a sol when he qualified for legal aid as a student, has now decided to self-represent due to the cost.

He was controlling, manipulative and cruel in our marriage and the petition is obviously against him. I don't think he will contest, but is it likely that a judge will sympathise with his poor me act and make me pay costs etc because I have a sol?

Bloody fed up and cross with it all and I just want it over now :(
