Help for daughter

My daughter has just found out she is pregnant. She is 23 years of age, works full time, lives where she works (ABDO college) and is very independent. Unfortunately her boyfriend has walked away from her and he doesn't want to be involved.
What I need help with is that she can't claim working tax credit as she is not 25 years of age. She may not get any child maintenance. And she will be on £135 per week maternity benefit when she has baby and maybe a few weeks before she is due. How can she possibly pay her bills on £135 per week??? I am so concerned as she is already in financial difficulty. Any benefit advice is greatly appreciated.

She will get child tax credit. Look on the inland revenue tax credit calculator (google it).

I don't know much on tax credits but am sure that she can claim them if she is under 25 with a child. I think the over 25 tax credits is for people on a low income with no children. I'm sure someone will be along to advise better but think there is a website you can go on and put in your details and it works out what tax credits/benefits she can get. Hope it works out for her .

It might be worth her getting some advice from the local job centre to see what help she is entitled too. At least she is in full time employment and eligible to maternity pay. It sounds like it will be a struggle but that's unfortunately the reality for lots mums.

Congratulations on her pregnancy. She is lucky to have a caring mum
