ex refusing to attend mediation

Hi, my ex partner (not married but together for twelve years) told me today that he will not go to mediation as he cannot afford it. He also said he will not go anywhere near a court and wants to sort out the property and access to children between ourselves. It is stressing me out. Has anyone else been through similar? Did you end up in court?

I don't know if there's a backstory here, but is there a reason you can't sort it all out between you? Why do you think you need mediation? Always best to avoid the courts if you can.

I attempted mediation, and my Xh also refused to go... Mine was even court ordered! Can't make them I guess.

Mediation for us, was hopefully going to help solve things without dragging issues constantly to court... Then the mediator would of gave the judge what was agreed upon..

SOOO...guess not... :P
