Wasn't expecting it to be this lonely

I asked my P to leave two weeks ago. Our relationship had been pretty bad for sometime. I had been desperately trying to find a way out and to move on in life with my 2DC.

Even though our time together was very separate lives, I am finding my life very lonely.

He is pleading to come back to be with me and the kids. How do I know if he really wants to be part of a family? Or he just wants the easy living options?

He assures me he has changed and he will be more supportive towards me, and a better dad for the kids. I should add, this isn't the first time we have been in this situation.

I might seem a fool, but am I clinging on to false hope? Any support or suggestions please

I doubt he has changed in 2 weeks.
What have the problems been?
I wouldnt take him back due to loneliness....that will pass. You will find other ways of having friendship, support and companionship. It will get better.
Living with an unsupportive partner for the rest of your life? Thats only going to get worse.

Your choice...short term gain and long term pain (having him back) or vice versa?

I wouldn't really know where to begin if I tried to list our problems..... Generally he was unsupportive; emotionally draining; moody; depressive.

I know I should be stronger. Is it normal for me to have extreme good and bad days?

Of course its normal to have extremes. I still have the odd day when I get upset for my DC or rant at the unfairness of it.
When I think of living as I did with STBXH, it's infinitely better now.

You are at early days.

However bad it is now, keep in mind it will get better. You will come out of this stronger. Learn from your mistakes, why did you pick him as a partner, are you repeating mistakes that you saw your parents made (common), how can you be better at standing up for yourself etc
