What title to use after separation/divorce

I am currently separated after my XH left me for my DD's ex best friend's mum. (the gift that just keps on giving) We are about to start mediation and as this will be under Scots law looks like I will have to agree to a divorce (even though I don't want this) to get a pension sharing order and financial independence. As I have children I have continued to use my married surname and intend to continue to use this even if we do divorce to keep the same name as the children. I am feeling a bit lost as to what title to use ie Miss, Ms or Mrs. Mrs suggests I am married, Miss is my daughter and I don't particiularly like Ms. Can anyone tell what the norm is for this?

I'm a miss again but I'm not sure really, I think you just go with whatever you like. I suspect you could be a mrs if you wanted.

I agree with new names. Ms.

We don't use the term Master anymore, which I believe denotes an unmarried male, like Miss is to female. Therefore I have always used Ms, no one knows my marital status unless I want them to.

I'm Ms, have never been married though. The only time I don't use Ms is when filling in a CRB check form, where for some reason if you put Ms, they assume you've been married and divorced and it causes problems.

Titles are a load of bollocks anyway imo

I suggest you talk yourself into liking Ms, or start now on a PhD so you can be Dr.

I changed back to my maiden name, I use either Ms or Miss, depending on my mood :) I am never Mrs though, cos that's my mum! I'm also Mrs DP on holidays because it is assumed we are married (though maybe that's because we go to Dubai and they like to think we are!)

I am separated but couldn't wait to get rid of ex's surname & be me again. I thought I would not want a different name from the children but it really makes no difference whatsoever. And I'm Ms but if I get called Miss or Mrs it's not the end of the world.
