So am I now divorced??

I dropped in to STBXH house this morning to drop of DD's phone. She was at dance class.

All very civilised, chatting about DD's welfare etc. STBXH asked if I'd had a letter from my solicitor this week. I hadn't. He produced a letter from his solicitor which stated that decree of divorce was granted on 17th Feb. His solicitor wrote the letter on 22nd Feb and STBXH got letter on 23rd. We are in Scotland so there is only one final decree.

We signed off the minute of agreement re financial stuff on 23rd Dec and I Ihave heard nothing since! It may be that Ex (if that is what he is now!) got the letter first as his side raised the petition. I am happy about it as it has taken 3.5 years.... I'll call my solicitor first thing Monday.

Well, yes, it seems. Divorced and instructing a less than efficient solicitor. Hope you are ok, not the best way to find out.

Just thought I would add that this might not be the fault of a solicitor. I know of an instance where the court failed to write to one party's solicitor. The solicitor was as mortified and cross as she was. It was in England but I imagine the courts of Scotland are as short staffed.
