Think I'm diabetic but also have Crohn's

I've had blood test results back after a long period of ill health. My HbA1c is 52. I have another test booked on on Thursday to confirm. I have had Crohn's for about 30 years and it is reasonably well managed. I have bile acid malabsorption because of bowel surgery when I was first diagnised with Crohn's.

Has anyone got any experience of managing both conditions together? I'm concerned that the diet that keeps my Crohn's and Bile acid malabsorption under control (low fibre/quite a lot if carbs) is probably the exact opposite to what I should be eating to help with diabetes.

I have similar conditions and manage it with diet and mounjaro. The meds I’m on for malabsorption issues manage it and if you haven’t had any up to date tests or new meds since you were initially diagnosed then that’s the first thing to get on top of. Your diabetes is probably caused by eating so much carbs! Have you cut out gluten and wheat etc and inflammatory food group ? Potatoes/tomatoes etc all that lot?

Thanks for replying. I'm glad that you manage similar conditions together. I'm definitely going to have to make some changes to my diet!
