Type 2 - snack ideas

I’m a recently diagnosed T2 - can anyone share snack suggestions. My pre diagnosis love of a biscuit has had to stop!

I’ve tried not eating between meals but I find at about 4pm I need something to tide me over until my evening meal

At the moment things I may eat include

apples
cheese
berries
natural yogurt
nuts
pumpkin seeds
cottage cheese and lettuce
a mug of bonebroth

I’d be grateful of any other suggestions

DiabetesUK website is good for meals, snacks and even recipes. They also have a link for snacks you can buy, MN keeps crashing every time I try to go and get another link so I can’t post that too, but if you Google ‘diabetes U.K. snacks’ a few different links with info come up.

Carrot and cucumber sticks with hummus.

Thank you. Can do hummus due to allergies but I could make some kind of healthy dip.

Aldi freeze dried strawberries.

Another type 2 here. I'm always ravenous when I get in from work so try and have something filling before walking the dogs then cooking tea.

Rice cakes with cheese (thinly sliced) or peanut butter
Protein shake with soya milk(I use one called Sune)
Picky plate - cubes of cheese, cucumber, tomato, olives, walnut halves
Small handful of cashew nuts or walnuts
Greek yogurt with blueberries and sunflower seeds

Thank you! Lots of great ideas.

If you fancy something a little sweeter I saw a recipe for a kind of mousse that is pretty nice….

1 sachet of sugar free jelly (raspberry or strawberry) mixed with one cup of boiling water. Allow it to cool down a bit, then whisk in 1 cup of Fage Greek yogurt. I divide it between empty gu dessert pots and get 6 little portions from the mix. Nice by itself or with a few fresh raspberries.

Theres a Tom Kerridge recipe for flaxseed biscuits somewhere online that are really nice with cheese or pate type things. I tend to roll the mix thinner than he suggests, and cut them smaller (I also don’t add in sweetener). Alternatively, you can buy a similar type of cracker- “olinas simply seed crackers” from Waitrose, or online at Amazon or Heylo which are nice too (I’ve only tried the plain, not the rosemary ones).

Not very exciting, but I find it really nice as a quick snack, are slices of cucumber with a little slice of extra mature cheddar or some cheese spread.

I’ll try to have a tub of egg mayo or chopped chicken (or tuna) salad in the fridge always, so I can always just have a dollop of that on a romaine lettuce leaf if I need a snack.
