Diabetes type 1 risk?

Hello,
I’m currently 23, turning 24 this year. I’m starting to think about having kids the older I get. Not ready for a few years yet but definitely know I want them. My grandma had diabetes type 1, my great uncle, all his children have it and my a cousin just got diagnosed in his 40’s with it too all on my mums side. My grandma was diagnosed at 23. My mum is 50 and doesn’t have it. I’m wondering my risk of getting it. It’s skipped a generation a lot in our family too before my grandma and my cousin who just got diagnosed he got it from his grandma. I never worried about it but since my mum explained how much it’s skipped a generation in our family and my grandma was 23 and I’m now 23 it is in the back of my mind all the time, especially if I have kids if I get it will they be at risk too?. I’ve been ill with various things the past few years, chronic UTI’s, strep throat etc and I think I’m just a lot more aware of my health. Thank you.
