Don’t go through a full body scanner at the airport if you have a cgm

Most diabetics probably already know this but I found out the hard way. It still sort of works but I have to scan it with my phone every time I want to check and then it disconnects again after 60 seconds or so. I don’t have alerts set but they wouldn’t work because there’s no continuous connection.

I avoid doing this, but every time the staff insist that it’s safe (despite me arguing back that the manufacturers say it should be avoided).

it’s very frustrating

Just be aware though that at least one country that's a popular Long Haul destination for many Brits, especially at this time of year, has a rule that if you refuse body scanner screening it's no fly....

They would have let me have a pat down instead. The guy in front of me was very nervous about the scanner and the security said he could have a pat down instead but it would take longer. It was Dublin airport.

Offload the app (different to uninstalling) then download it again, usually fixes this
