Hi there my disabled daughter always gets a mayo chicken no lettuce add a slice of cheese I’m wondering if this may be bad for her diabetes and how have other mothers got their children away from this fast food?

Thanks, CA XX

They do pretty detailed nutritional information online now.

Don't know about the diabetes issue. But surely, once in a while, it isn't that unhealthy.

If she’s on insulin then just adjust her insulin to account for the carbs

if shes not on insulin you can only tell if it works for her by testing her blood sugar before and 2hrs after it

I think all 5 year olds like a maccys. As long as it is a treat as part of a healthy diet will be fine.

This can't be a real post! However if it is, your child is 5 and doesn't need to eat fast food. Just don't buy it - it's not that difficult!

This is from a different world to me. Mine hadn’t tried it by 5, and that wasn’t particularly unusual amongst my friends. I see mcds as a convenience motorway type must eat food, not a ‘treat’ food.

Occasional McDonald’s is fine as long as you adjust for carbs. I would be dropping the cheese though, that’s not part of the standard recipe so extra calories she doesn’t need.

my DD’s both had McDonald’s)occasionally) from young and are both slim adults, it’s about keeping diets in moderation not banning foods
