Hi, I have been a type 2 diabetic for around 2 years, I’m taking Jardiance and Mounjaro. The last couple of weeks my blood sugars have been 4.6 when waking and between 5.2-6.3 2 hours after eating. I feel really tired, all I want to do is sleep and am getting bad headaches. Are these blood sugars within the normal range.

I try and have a sugary drink or carbs but nothing seems to bring my blood sugars up. Even if I eat something that should send my blood sugars sky high it doesn’t. I drink 2-3 litres of water a day so it’s not dehydration

Your blood sugars are in the “normal” range, which is 4-7.

the recent hot weather can play havoc with your blood glucose levels.

you mention Mounjaro - have you lost weight? If so, your T2 diabetes may be in remission, it’s a very personal thing but even smallish weight losses can bring you within your personal threshold where your pancreas works better/your insulin sensitivity improves

If you are T2 you don't want your blood sugars up high. Contact your GP practice and ask if there is a diabetic nurse you can talk to.

Thankyou so much for coming back to me. I will have a read of the remission. I have lost slowly about 2 stone in a year.
