I haven't been diagnosed as diabetic. I am very obese almost 20 stones so I know I'm at risk. I've been feeling unwell recently. My hands and feet are clammy/sweaty. My sugar intake is quite high due to poor diet choices. I've been taking blood readings first thing on a morning and get a reading of 5.9 is this a concern?

That sounds within normal range.

That’s within normal limits.

Between 5-7 is normal in UK measurements. But it fluctuates throughout the day. You are testing after a night long fast... You should maybe do mid-day and before bed as well.

But if you are at all worried. Get a blood test from your GP. This is one condition where prevention is 100 times better than cure!! There are so many easy small adjustments you could make to avoid this condition.
