Hi,

My dad has very recently been diagnosed with diabetes at the moment they think type 1 and he’s on insulin but he’s still on a journey with that. This is following emergency surgery where he sadly lost a toe after a very bad infection in his foot. He’s asked for some baking bits for Christmas as he’d like to get into that especially whilst at home more and recovering - does any know or reccomend some really good baking books? This is all new to us so thank you in advance!

T1 on insulin eat the same diet as everyone else, they just adjust their insulin according to the carb content. So, any standard baking book is fine.

How's your DF getting on now @Roxttc?

He’s doing ok thank you, he still needs another surgery on his foot as it was a really nasty infection and has started to reduce his insulin as they’re not 100% sure he has type 1 yet said it may take months of trying different things and doing blood sugar tests?
