Hi,

I'm type 2 diabetic (on metformin and trulicity) for the last 18 months taking my time I have lost some weight (think I read somewhere you need to lose at least 3 stone fast) and wonder if I am now in the pre-diabetics group? Just looked at my test results from last week (non fasting) HbA1c blood test - is is 42.0 mmol/mol - at 6% (DCCT aligned) with lab comments as Stable.

Am I looking good?

Reading a diabetic website

  • Prediabetes: 42 to 47 mmol/mol (6.0 to 6.4%)
  • Diabetes: 48 mmol/mol (6.5% or over)

But results page on the nhs app seem to indicate normal range as 20 to 41 so appreciate I'm not totally clear.

I'm sorry I have no idea 😂 your post just popped up in my active posts and I just wanted to say well done! It sounds like you have made a really positive change and that's never easy. 🙂

You’re still diabetic you’ve not become prediabetic, because you’re taking trulicity and metformin. But your a1c is improving so well done.

Ah thank you both, I was hopeful because it mentioned in the result notes please consider referral to national diabetes prevention programme and to recheck progression to type 2 DM.

I understand now why the surgery was really pleased with the last results as that came out at 41 but with a higher percentage.

But both times I've been on the injections which have gone out/are going out of stock so suppose I can't foretell the long-run. I did pick up some good tips on keeping up the walking and will try to keep the motivation.
