Hello
I was diagnosed type 2 last year. Have lost 3 stone and now bloods show I am no longer diabetic. However I am having an issue with my feet! I attend foot check and have one coming up but wanted opinions!
I wear socks all the time, never bare foot. I have dry hard skin on my heels, I use foot cream all the time. What is bothering me is I have a split by my little toe, it is painful to walk on. I can moisturise and then half an hour later feet feel dry again. My sister (not diabetic) suggested I need to buff the dry skin, I have never done this would it help? I am making an appointment with podiatrist as well but anything I can do to help the split heal? It is very painful to walk on!

Personally I find keeping things like that dry in the day & putting germolene on at night heals things more quickly. Even though Germolene is not what it used to be.

but being T2 (as I am) you definitely need to be monitoring them & seeing someone if it's ongoing.

Could it be athletes foot related? Maybe try some medicated foot powder?

The cut I mean, not the dry skin. No idea if a rub with a pumice stone might help that.
