Libre 2 update nightmare: T1D kids

Anyone else had issues?

My connection with my kids’ phones is now very unreliable, way worse than before. Half the time I’ve got no idea where they are with their sugars.

We’ve had 4 sensors either stop working or fall off in the last 2 weeks and now the last straw the damn thing alarmed all night long despite my daughter being in range throughout. No one had any sleep and DH is raging!!

The cgm function just doesn’t seem to work at all. Flash glucose accuracy was always so so and definitely off when they were out of range but it was more reliable than this!

The whole update seems like it was rushed out and now all the wheels are falling off the entire product.

I’ve always disliked them as my eldest has a Dexcom which is accurate and never falls off (we have to pay for those to work with her pump, the Libres we get on the NHS).

Anyone else had issues?

I work in adult diabetes and yes they are more flakey than before. Android is better than IOS.
You shouldn't be paying for Dexcom on a closed loop BTW. It should be funded. We are gradually swapping our T1 adults to Dexcom or Libre 3, have been for about a year.

Agree - I'm getting more 'try again in 10 mins' and signal losses than before. Don't even think the CGM is working correctly as still having to scan for readings.

The "CGM" only works when the app is open AFAIK.

Will.they not fund a,Dexcom?
My son was only diagnosed in February after going into.DKA,the NHS thankfully agreed to fund a Dexcom, which he's had since May after the first week.or so teething problems
It's been very accurate and I find it so reassuring.

Depends on where you live. My area is strictly Libre 2 only on prescription, no pump for over 12's with good control.

God luck to you op, hope the situation improves x
