Does anyone have experience of this medication? I have just been put on it, alongside metformin. I have never had to wee so much in my life! Is this normal?! Any advice would be appreciated.

It works by reducing the amount of glucose reabsorbed into your system from the kidneys. When there is excess glucose in the kidneys they actively work to reduce the quantity by making you pee more.

@HRTeatime thanks for replying. Im drinking more because Im weeing more, then drinking more again. Will my body get used to drinking more? And I suppose if i have less sugar I will wee less?

I was put on this for kidney disease
The amount of urinating and the extra sugar in the urine can cause urine infections
Have you seen the very dangerous /. But unlikely side effect? Basically gang green of the vagina / bottom area…
Read about it to you are away of the symptoms to look out for
