Diabetes symptoms help please

I am overweight and for the last few weeks felt awful. I have a constant dry mouth and lips, blurry vision at. Times so I got a blood sugar test kit. Ii have ranges from 1.1 to 6.5 to 9.8. Doctor not taking me seriously do these. Readings seem high or low I'm confused by it all and I keep wanting to drink at times

"Normal" blood sugar range is 4 to 7 - inverted commas because there is some debate. Numbers like you have tested need investigation- try testing each morning as soon as you wake as this will give a better idea of your base levels of blood sugar.

A blood glucose level of 1.1 in a person not taking insulin or certain diabetes medications that increase circulating insulin is extremely unusual, and would have significant symptoms. What meter have you got, and have you done a control solution test to check it is testing accurately? Has your gp or practice nurse ordered a blood test to check for diabetes?

You would be seriously ill if 1.1 was correct. Were they fasted readings or taken after eating?

Just tagging this question on.. I've been tested & the GP is trying to work out whether I'm T1 or T2 diabetes. Had a fasting blood test today & also finger prick test (also fasting)
Immediate finger test was 7, & waiting for blood test results to come back.
I think this is quite high isn't it for a fasting test? Would this indicate a particular type of diabetes?

Lowest I've been is 1.6 and it wasn't pretty (type 1)
