Anyone Type 2 with this flu?

I’ve barely eaten for two weeks. Took a reading just now and was shocked to find blood sugar at 15.1. Mine is usually well-controlled, though I am new at the whole thing

I assume this is something to do with the flu, but I do t know what to do about it. I can’t exercise at the moment (I can barely climb the stairs )

any thoughts?

Infections can raise blood sugar. Have other readings been high However 15+ is damaging if sustained, can you test your wee for ketones(strips from chemist) or get an ooh appointment?

If ketones are high you may develop dka which is a medical emergency. Look up the other symptoms of it.

I don’t want to worry you unnecessarily but recently a friend of mine with type 2 diabetes had the flu and ended up in ITU with uncontrolled blood sugars. She’s fine now but she was in hospital for about a week she’s been struggling on at home and waiting too long to consult a GP please Contact OOH
