Mum’s diabetes and possible ED

My mum has had T1 since she was a small child so I’ve grown up pretty aware of the condition and the impact it has on her health. However she is quite secretive about lots of aspects of it, I think because she’s embarrassed or scared by some of the consequences it can have on her body. In the past few years I have noticed some big changes in her and I’m not certain whether it’s to do with her diabetes or something else. She has lost a huge amount of weight and is now I think very underweight for her height. I’ve had some suspicions that it’s an ED that she masks with her diabetes.
She has also developed an increasingly strong tremor which used to just be her hands but has now travelled to her head sometimes as well. She dismisses it when I raise it with her. Are either of these things linked to T1 or should I be encouraging her to get checked for other health conditions?

I think it would be a good idea to try and talk to her about it and ask how her most recent diabetes checks have gone, if you really get nowhere you could write a letter to her GP ( or diabetic nurse) telling them of your concerns and say you're very worried. They can't share her medical information with you but can arrange for her to have some more checks done when she has her next medication review or her Blood tests foot checks etc.
