Hi. I'm new to all this, was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes 3 months ago after an Hba1c of 50 (previous one was 49).

Have just had an Hba1c test 3 months after the last one, and it's come back as 43. I'm not on any medication. I have an appointment tomorrow with the diabetes nurse to discuss the result, but I'm not sure what to expect. Is this kind of reduction good enough in 12 weeks? I've been trying really hard with my exercise and diet, but don't know if I'm doing enough. I really appreciate any insight.

43 is a very good improvement, in fact is actually classes as 'pre diabetic range' which is great! Hopefully this means you won't need to begin any new medications.

To clarify, they won't reverse your diagnosis but they will likely deem you to be well managed. Which you should be very proud of!

42-47 is pre-diabetic range just FYI.

A good reduction. If you can sustain that you may avoid being diabetic.
