Hi

I’ve had gestational diabetes 3 times and due a blood test in August as a check up.

The past week I’ve been checking my blood with my monitor first thing upon waking and after meals (hour after)

My levels have been 6.8-7.4 in the mornings and ranging from 8-11.4 after meals.

Am I right in thinking these are high levels? No unbelievably high I know but higher than they should be for a non diabetic.

I just can’t remember what they should be and I don’t want to google it as I’m worried already lol.

I’ve contacted the doctor already so just wanting a check on my suspicions to make sure I’m not going mad. Lol

Many thanks

Levels should be 7.5 or less two hours after your first bite. There shouldn’t really be a rise of more than two.

How old are your test strips, OP? You could be getting false readings if they’re more than a few weeks old, as the enzymes degrade once the bottle has been opened.

I would get fresh strips and a new meter. If the results are still that high, I’d try and see your doctor before August, as anything over about 7.8 can be doing harm to eyes, nerves etc. Good luck Flowers
