I had my first proper Hba1c test done last week my last one was on diagnosis during DKA and was 153!
I called the GP surgery this morning to ask for my result and she said it was 6.9 and hung up on me.
I thought the result should have been a higher type number ie 48-70, and to be honest I was expecting it to be around 70 because it's all very new and I've had a couple of bad patches since diagnosis.
Is it likely the receptionist is a bit of a drip and doesn't understand the result and meant 69 or do you sometimes get the result as the % the same way you would from a one off finger prick?
I'll try to call them back later to get a definite answer but I was just hoping for some opinions :)

In the uk we used to report HbA1c in %, rather than the mmol/mol we now use. Here a conversion chart (if my link works) www.southend.nhs.uk/media/44653/hba1c_conversion_table.pdf
