Diet

I'm a fairly newly diagnosed t1 on MDI. Since my honeymoon period ended in September I've not got things back under control. My team are finally starting to help but I feel like my diet is all wrong.
I've been told up until now to eat what I want, but I get the impression (especially as I struggle to find time to prebolus some days) that I need to go low carb.

Can any more experienced t1s shed some light?

@eggofmantumbi Bit of a late response sorry. Some type 1's do low-carb and it can make blood sugar levels easier to control. You would have to weigh up how likely it is that you'd enjoy this kind of food and whether it would fit with your lifestyle e.g. frequent exercisers can have with more carbs without compromising control.

The thing you really need to do is test, test test and then record for several months. Then you can more accurately predict what you can get away with and when (if you are female and reproduction age you may find bg levels rise as you get closer to your period, amongst many other factors that will affect it).

Good luck Smile
