I have also for the first time in 13 years developed thrush and my big toenails have both fell off and iv no idea why ? I am 2 stone overweight (size 14/16 and 5ft7) . It's the thirst more than anything that's driving me mad as nothing at all satisfies it and I can barely swallow as my mouth is that dry . I am 35 , have 4 dcs and have mental health issues that have been very bad for past 2 years (cyclothimia is my diagnosis) . I am currently not taking any medication so it's not a side effect of any meds . I have been under severe stress lately with regards my inlaws but can't see how stress could cause such side effects however I'm no expert . Can anyone tell me how diabetes is diagnosed and what led you to the suspicion that you may have it ? This may be the wake up call I need to get myself healthy and dust off my old running shoes and Lycra Shock

Go to your local surgery and ask for an appointment with the nurse for a blood test.
