Can anyone tell me what this means as a diagnosis for DM?

Does it mean its mixed dementia with vascular - and then possibly also alzheimers.

Or does it mean mixed dementia - mixed with something else that could possibly be alzheimers or possibly be something else?

Sorry if it sounds like a stupid question? I'm still trying to get my head round it all and want to get as much information as possible.

My MIL has mixed dementia and has vascular and alzheimer's. Early in the diagnosis though and she is well. DH has sorted out POA and she has agreed to put his name on bills and her bank etc so he can deal with stuff. PoA is really good now. Largely digital and the portal allows you to contact major companies such as energy providers via them so nothing like the paper work it used to be. If possible get you mum to agree to as much as possible if she's well enough to do so. It's very difficult without PoA. Good luck x

Is the POA portal you mention on the government website or is there a specific one?

It normally means the mix if vascular and alzhiemers. So there has been some brain damage from reduced blood flow or small bleeds on brain ( but not big enough to be tia or stroke) but there is also alzhiemers disease happening in the brain. Sometimes the brain changes can be in the same place in the brain and something different areas of brain more affected.
