My relative hasn’t taken to twiddles and sensory item to hold. She picks at her skin and nails when not occupied. I’m trying to find things to do in bed. She can’t read much but will look at the paper, struggling to understand it. Recently she filed her nails which led me to think she would benefit from more practical things to do.

My MIL uses a busy book, she can play with it for hours, it is portable and goes everywhere with her. Without it she has a tendency to undo her seatbelt or open the car door while it is moving. The book seems to stop this from happening.

There are skin picking toys she may like - picky pads.
