Hi All
My DM and I want my Nan moved from a care home we are dissatisfied with, to another one that is much nicer, and will accept her. We are unhappy with her current home as she has been hospitalised twice through falls which were undiscovered until hours later when she had fallen asleep, injured on the lounge floor of the home and because she broker her arm and they didn't notice for a week. There is no entertainment there, despite it being promised and she has lost hearing aids and glasses worth a lot of money with no effort having been made and months elapsing without any offer of insurance so she's been without these basic things for her dignity. Social services are saying it's their decision whether she goes back to the old home or the new one as we don't have the health and welfare LPA. We applied for it on my insistence but DM made a mistake on the form and they rejected it. She didn't apply for it again. I suspect because she didn't really want to take life or death decisions even though I was also on it. Anyhow, I need some advice for this meeting. How can we avoid sending her back to the home that's terrible?

Where is your DGM now @Hairydogmummy?

In hospital. It's okay though since I posted, they have agreed to her moving to the nice new home thank goodness. Thank you!

That's great news. It's so worrying isn't it when they need care.
