Why is it so hard to get any bank to help you when you have a POA? I’m a patient person but good grief, trying to deal with my mother’s bank account (she’s gone into residential care) is nigh on impossible.

I can remember that DSIL has an awful time with the ILs bank until she went into her local branch with the cards, statements and POA in hand and some kind employee sorted it all out for her. She now has internet banking for them and can pay for things that they need.

No other option but to go into each bank with all documentation and ID and wait to see someone. You can’t make an appointment. Register the POA which gives you a debit card and telephone banking access. Then yet another visit to get on line access. Trying to do this on the phone got me nowhere. It was a nightmare tbh
