Car passenger seat weight limit

Im not sure really where to post this, so was hoping you may be able to help.

I need to try and find out the maximum weight limit that a car passenger seat can take, a standard car (eg fiat bravo). not for baby car seats but for an adult to sit in the passenger car seat.

this is for dp who as part of his job need to provide transport for somebody, but we are wondering if this person could be over the weight limit for the car (they are over 25 stone), it is dp's personal car so to be honest we dont want to damage our car and also other people who have also been asked to transport this person dont want to cause damage to theirs.

i have tried to search the fiat site but cant find anythng out, if it comes to it i can ring them tomorrow but am looking for a quick/rough answer asap!

Its an American site which refers to total load for a car for tyre safety purposes. THis example had a total 850lb load.

Look in your manual, and look for the total load. I haven't checked but there may also be a total load plate fixed in the same place on the door frame for European cars - or maybe on the VIN plate under the bonnet.

(I bet you don't get an individual seat loading number)
