Guilt Trip

Mobile goes off on Friday, busy at work on another line. See call is from the missis - can't answer anyway, but do try and call back a few minutes or so after finishing my other call (how urgent can it be??)
Line engaged, engaged, engaged.
Eventually (mildly irritated) leave message on her mobile "presume you're mid long chat to one of the girlies".....
Eventually get called back half an hour later. There are apparently not one but two ambulances outside our gaff, after 2yr 10mth year old took it into his head to have a febrile seizure. Oh sh*t!!!!!!
To cut a long story short, all is eventually well, discharged from hospital with advice about keep that temperature down.
Flowers, alcohol, food for the missis, who I have to say coped admirably!

Sounds like the sort of thing I would do too - it is not usual to expect an emergency just from a missed call so don't feel too bad, at least you have made it clear you are sorry!

I hope your dc is well now, must have been an awfully scary time.

Scared the hell out of missis. DS just went limp in her arms, started fitting and went blue!!!
Apparently ambulance lady on the phone was brill and stayed on the line until the first ambulance arrived.
DS's main concern on arrival at hospital was whether or not he would get to go home in the ambulance as well!
(FWIW Febrile Fits are bloody scary, but not generally dangerous)

Glad to that the little one is fine. Sounds like the kind of thing I would do as well (and have done). Every one who is important in this way knows to leave me a voice mail.
