Any House Husband groups in West London?

Hi,

I have recently become a house husband and was wondering if anyone knows of any house husband groups/gatherings in west london.
I live in Ealing, W5 and I'm quite open minded to location.
I feel a bit lonely and would like to socialise with other house husbands.
Or alternatively, are there any house husbands out there in Ealing/west london area who would like to make contact?

Thanks
Julian

Hi

Bumping for you.

Alutek · 27/01/2009 19:41

Hi Julian

We recently moved to Ealing (Pitshanger Lane area). My DH is a SAHD; he was main carer for our DS (2.6) when I went back to work after maternity leave. I am currently on maternity leave again (with DD, now 8 months), so we are both at home right now, but DH will be main carer again when I go back to work for 4 days a week in a few months' time. I know he would be keen to meet other dads locally. How old is/are your DC?

woolsh · 28/01/2009 09:53

Hi Alutek

Thanks for your message. Our son is 8 months old. He is our first baby. We are also in Pitshanger area. My wife and I would be happy to meet you all. What do you think?

Small world! Yes, we'd like that. Maybe we could start with coffee somewhere on Pitshanger Lane. When would be good for you?

Hiya,
Don't know of any groups as such but I'd be interested in meeting up if you fancy it any Wed-Thurs-Fri. I'm in the Kensington area with my 1-yr old.

woolsh · 28/01/2009 17:32

Hi Alison

Most weekends are ok for us; Saturday or Sunday.
Perhaps a Mid morning (11am) after breakfast?
Or mid afternoon (2 ish).

Do you know Oscars or Cinnamon?

Hi PadDad,

Would be good to meet up. Wed, Thurs or Friday would be ok. Would you consider meeting halfway, perhaps Chiswick/Hammersmith?

Julian

Sure, how's Hammersmith? Do you know a place there that would fit strollers?

Could do this Friday afternoon, or those days next week.

Afternoons are better just because we go to a decent parent-toddler group in the mornings. But we could skip one if your schedule is different.

woolsh · 29/01/2009 11:01

Hi PadDad

How about this Friday (30th) around 230pm?
On kings st, hammersmith, there is a costa coffee. perhaps meet there?

What do you think?

Sure, sounds good. See you then.

Hopefully there's only one Costa on King's Street. Is it near the tube?

Regarding spotting me, I tend to dress in black, and have a black Phil&Teds stroller.

You?

woolsh · 29/01/2009 13:40

Hi PadDad

Costa is in the Kings Mall on Kings st.

I have a mothercare pram. I'll be wearing a long blue coat.

See you tomorrow.

Hi Julian

Yes, we know both of those. What about Oscars this Saturday at 11?

woolsh · 29/01/2009 16:06

Hi Alison

Oscars on Saturday at 11 is fine with us.
See you then.
We have a little boy and I'll be wearing a black coat.

How will we recognise you?

Julian

Julian

Really sorry but something has come up and we can't now make Saturday. Are you by any chance free the same time on Sunday?

Alison

woolsh · 29/01/2009 22:17

Alison

Sunday is fine.

See you then.

Hi Woolsh,

Hope you got my text?

thomsc · 17/03/2009 14:29

Hi, not sure anyone is still reading this, but how far are you from Wimbledon Park? Could you train / tube it?

There's a group there called Dads and Littl'uns. www.dadsandlittluns.co.uk/

I've not been to the one in Wimbledon Park, but I go to Dulwich when I can.

Hope it's all going well.

PadDad · 18/03/2009 09:03

Thanks Thomsc. Interesting.

not sure why I'm reading this as I'm a mum but just to say there is a surestart centre in Chiswick that does a dad's session on saturdays, you should be able to google it.
