Am 6 months pregnant and dh seems to be sinking further and further into a depression. He reacted the same way when I was pregnant with dd (age 5)but this time seems worse as there is now dd in the equation too. He snapped out of it once she was born but it took a while. Pregnancy was planned. Not sure if it has triggered a 'mid life crisis' (if they exist) or whether this is a normal reaction that men have but has got out of hand.
Its pretty grim all round at home and there's still a long way to go.
Anyone had similar experiences?

oh poor you. not sure what to suggest tbh, but didn't want you to go unanswered. my dh has had depression in the past, and it was awful, so you have my sympathies.
is there anything in particular that's worrying him?
hopefully someone with something useful to say will be along soon.

Thanks Dotsie. It is grim. He has said he will go and see a counsellor, which in my mind at least means he acknowledges there is a problem but for me I guess its the uncertainty of what that will mean if/ and when he starts to make decisions about what he wants to do.... ie. when one of your main explanations is: 'this isn't where I saw my life going' I guess there is the worry that he'll think about the alternative and go for it. But what can you do?
