25mg is a very low dose and 14 days is a very short time. Also different people react very differently to SSRIs.

You probably need to give it a few more weeks and then speak to your GP again if things haven't improved.

can't remember how long my course was or the dosage was - while it improved some things, I just felt a little 'off kilter'. Throughout life I have felt 'down' but never suicidal, but when I started it for a week or two I had some very dark thoughts.

I gave it a reasonable amount to time but while I guess it alleviate some issues, stopped taking it after a while. So not really a positive experience.

No experience of sertraline but here is the link to the BNF

My DW is on multiple similar drugs. You need to understand that the NHS doctors have maximum of 20 minutes to talk to you and have to make a diagnosis and decide what to do in that time. You need to understand your situation and go prepared to your next appointment well prepared. Talk to the Home Treatment Team they always have a useful answer for us. Good luck OP
