My husband has decided it’s time for a vasectomy.

does anyone on here or their husbands have one? If so what can I expect? As in being able to support him. I have read up as much as I can online but just after actual
experiences ect

thanks in advance

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

My husband had one. In and out. No big deal. They’re supposed to not do sport for a couple of days.

Mine had it done at a nearby GP practice. My parents had the children for the day and I just took an extended lunch break (because there was no point loosing AL). He slept in a separate bed because the children like to come in during the night and had the weekend in bed and then just sore for the week after

Best thing DH ever did. It was a rough recovery over a couple of days, worse than we’d both expected as he’s very hardcore with pain, but completely healed soon after and risk free shagging since. It was DH’s idea.

My husband had one a couple of years ago. GP told him the wait would be up to 2yrs but within a few weeks he’d been given an appointment with a private place close by.

Very quick procedure - they tell you not to drive yourself home but he did. He did desk duties at work for a week due to his type of job but unless it’s a very physical job there’s no need to take any time off afterwards. He did end up with an infection but was fine after antibiotics.

I remember him been told to wear Y fronts for a couple of weeks which he hated doing 😄

Make sure you follow all the instructions about using other contraception for a while and getting his semen tested before assuming the vasectomy has been successful.

It was a short procedure, and it took at least a week for me to recover. Definitely make sure he doesn't have anything pressing for at least a week.

My question is... why don't more men get one?!!! My husband had his after his first (and last) child and no regrets whatsoever.
