Hi, have a job offer in Gloucester (5 days a week onsite )and I am currently living in South Wales. We would like to move closer to the English border (nr Magor). Is there anybody that finds this distance commutable? Happy to take further questions, if things needs to explained more.

Hour there and hour back? I'd say it's fine for 3 days a week but 5 is a lot. Certainly a lot of wear on the car and you'd hope you'd be compensated with consideration of changing cars more frequently

My job is across the other side of the country - I’m in the north east, job is in the north west. I condensed my working days into 4 (so have Friday, Saturday and Sunday off) and work 2 days (8-6 from home) and 2 days on-site (first day 08:30 - 18:00; second day 08:00 - 18:00). I stay over one night.

My mileage works out the same as my old job that was 17 miles away but over 5 days.

I have to get up early the day I travel over though and set off by 6am 😱. It’s ok but the dark mornings/nights are a bit spooky across the A66!

I know a few people who work their hours like this as they live a distance away.
