Swollen Hippo feet

DW is now at 33 weeks, and her feet and ankle have become rather swollen, does any one have an advice on how to improve this other than elevation of her feet. I have tried to rub them for her, but she said this hurts. And she has said this is not due to me rubbing them too hard as that was my first question.

get her to see a MW....could be an indicator of pre-eclampsia particularly if it has come on suddenly.

Alternatively elevation and drinking lots actually helps to fluch out hte fluid.

Unfortuanately for me my ankles were horrfifc and didn't go down until I stopped breastfeeding.

Oh and although they were painful to touch I did find that I needed someone (my DTDs) to gently rub moisturisor in because they started to become dry and cracked.

She needs to elevate them, can she sit somewhere with her feet propped up?
I found that helped, when I had the same problem.

Oh and a nice cool drink and the TV remotye wouldn't go amiss

If she is suffering from headaches as well she should see a mw.

Sounds unerringly like the pre-eclampsia that dd's mum suffered from at more or less the same time. Def. MW business as SMS says. Raised blood pressure ( overand above a usual pg level).
This is an extremely serious condition, to both mum and foetus. From what I recall 8 years ago.

btw - this should perhaps go in the 'pregnancy' slot? Dadsnet can often have tumbleweed blowing through it, and so requests don't get the same attention they require.
