40th birthday

I'm putting together 40 gifts for my husbands 40th in the summer

The main one is a night away just us no kids and I want 39 other things for him to open (that doesn't cost what the one night hotel did 🤭)

Any ideas?

So far I have
Book
Family picture framed
Keyring of the kids
Trainers
Fave choc ( will make a hamper )
Fave wine

I can get to 40 I'm just trying to think outside the box
Budget is not a massive thing as in I don't need to stick to an amount but I want some gifts not to be OTT
As some more expensive than others
Without getting 'crap' if that makes sense

Thank you!

Oh and activities like go karting/
He's active and likes things like that
Rarely gets time full time work/kids etc

Previously I've bought him golf days/experience days

How about a bottle of 40 year old port?

I would be completely overwhelmed by getting 40 presents. And annoyed tbh! Most men (in my experience) don’t like getting stuff they haven’t asked for or don’t need/want.

Garlicgarlicgarlic · 20/03/2025 15:19

What you've already got plus the hotel stay is absolutely plenty, 40 different things for no real reason except making up numbers seems arbitrary.
Port, trainers and a hotel stay is loads.

OP, you know your husband best but these are a couple of good points above.

Maybe something different might be to leave 40 notes around the place in the 40 days running up to his birthday, each one numbered, with a reason you love him?

@ManHereSorry@Garlicgarlicgarlicthanks for your reply and input and being annoyed at 40 presents, umm ok…it’s not what I actually asked for wether I should get him 40 presents or not it was the content, I’m well on my way with my list and thanks to the ideas peeps - he’s going to love being spoilt that I do know and I know he definitely won’t be annoyed but I suppose it’s each to their own. Also none of the gifts are to make up numbers, just think it’s a lovely ideas. Some things will be cost free and I already have a jar of notes from things we love about hubby. I want to treat and spoil my husband as he’s been so amazing to me over the years but anyway I’m almost there with the list. 😍
