Court Appearance - Final Order Application as a Respondent

Hi all,

Has anyone had to attend a Court Hearing for applying for a Final Order as a respondent.

Reason I had to apply was my ex wife who filed for divorce refused to apply for the final order in an attempt to continue a degree of control but also get more money out of me (despite my having paid out as per the financial settlement in full and not having missed a payment of CMS since the start of the year).

And when I gave in an offered her some money to apply for the final order, she then said she wasnt in a hurry, knowing full well it was upsetting my new partner.

After waiting nearly 6 months I have a court date, but have no idea whether it is a formality and whether i need to prepare anything.

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks

Talk to your solicitor.

But i would make the point if needed that it seems like controlling or coercive behaviour
