Hi! We moved to Paignton from central Bristol in 2015 and are very happy here. We moved to the Roundham area, right by Goodrington beach. In the summer we swim in the sea every day, in the winter we enjoy coastal walks, historic properties and being close to nature, while shops, train station and M5 are close by. There’s also Bristol and Exeter airports for some winter sunshine. We spent 16 days here looking at schools, local walks, views, beaches, traffic, leisure centers and general quality of life before we moved, and arrived at Roundham in Paignton. We’ve just had ‘Pirate weekend’, and the air-show with fire-works and Red Arrows and Typhoon display, and the council make an effort to keep all the parks and communal areas nice! Our kids enjoy it too, and feel much safer here. Sure it’s got it’s problems, but in quite a different league from what we had in Bristol.
I would say do your homework, go and stay and visit some places in different seasons, and visit schools etc.
