Job Advice Please

Hi All, I've been offered a job which I have accepted. However, whilst I've been waiting for all the HR checks to through, I've been offered another job that pays more money. Is it acceptable for me to go back to the first offer and ask them to match the second offer?

Personally I would contact the first company and let them know you have had another offer, and want to withdraw, which is just being polite. I wouldn't ask outright for more money from them as it just comes across as blackmaily.
